Stage truss design essentials

Apr 28, 2018

The stage truss is usually composed of one or more platforms. Most of the main stage tables of the ancient amphitheater reach into the auditorium, lower than the audience (such as the stage of the ancient Greek fan theater), or higher than the audience (such as China Temple Table) for the audience to watch from three sides. The stage of an indoor theater is usually facing the auditorium, with a framed stage, an extended stage, and a center stage.

The stage design is based on the design of the "stage" as the subject matter. More specifically, the design of the stage equipment, lighting, curtains, sound, performance props, suspension and replacement of the support system, costumes, and makeup are taken as subject matter. What is similar to the display design is that these subject matter are "supporting actors" and should be the protagonists of "performance activities."

In addition, the stage truss design also features the time dimension of the plot. In terms of the degree of exquisiteness of stage design, it can be divided into three categories: open field platform, mobile stage, and indoor stage. In terms of the development of stage design, the West and China have different types of appearance.

In the West, there are major technological breakthroughs in the Renaissance stage design, including: the stage of the mirror frame, the perspective scenery, the false perspective, the side-curtain system with rapid (rotational) replacement, etc., which not only make the theatre and opera the core of the stage. "Design has become a major part of the Western stage design. With the Renaissance movement, this stage design has quickly spread throughout the Western world from Italy.

The contents of the stage truss design mainly include auditorium, stage, and backstage. The auditorium includes seats, audio environment, perspective, entry and exit path, and physical environment. The stage includes lighting and curtains. Audio, performance props, suspension and replacement of the support system, costumes, makeup, etc.; backstage including makeup, WenWenChang (band), cut-off channel, basic props, Chen Fang, and ready to play space.

Therefore, the capabilities required for stage truss design include: knowledge of performing activities (or theatrical performances), stage paintings, props (arts and crafts), stage lighting, knowledge of the evolution of props and costume pat.
